World Innovation Summit For Health Launches Young Innovators Competition

The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) has launched its Young Innovators competition, which will form part of the recently announced fourth edition of WISH. WISH’s Young Innovators competition gives people under the age of 30 the opportunity to present novel healthcare-related products and innovations globally to an international audience of policy makers and influencers at WISH 2018, which will take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha on 13 and 14 November 2018.

WISH Announces Eye Health as First Area of Research Focus For WISH 2018

The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) has announced “eye health” as the first of the nine research topics that will be the focus of next year’s summit. A report outlining the findings of the research will be published and presented during a panel discussion at WISH 2018, which will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on November 13th and 14th, 2018.

QF and QAFA Join Forces to Promote Qatar National Autism Plan

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), and Qatar Autism Families Association (QAFA), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership is aimed at providing socially inclusive opportunities at QF facilities, particularly sports and leisure facilities, for those with autism and their families, advancing the Qatar National Autism Plan.

INNOVATIVE TECHNIQUE TO DIAGNOSE BLOOD CANCER DEVELOPED BY WISH AND HMC RESEARCHERS

Researchers from the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), an intitiative of Qatar Foundation, and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) have developed a molecular diagnostic technique that enables cancer testing at the genetic level for the first time. The Molecular Diagnostic Kit (MDx), which has been completely funded and developed in Qatar, is a novel technology that provides personalized diagnosis of blood cancer. The newly-developed kit can determine the severity of the cancer and monitor a patient as they undergo treatment.

WISH GENOMICS RESEARCH PRESENTED AT HAMAD BIN KHALIFA UNIVERSITY IN QATAR

The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) presented findings from its research on genomics and Islamic biomedical ethics at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) on November 8. The presentation was attended by the inaugural class of HBKU’s Genomics and Precision Medicine program, the first of its kind in the Middle East.
